CHLOE Walpole is relieved that she has dual nationality. As an English and French national, she will be able to travel freely in Europe, in spite of Brexit.
Now she is putting her interest in politics to good use and has signed up for the NCTJ Diploma in Journalism at Harlow College.
Chloe, 18, said ‘I am totally against us coming out of Europe and I’m so happy that I won’t be affected,” adding that her interest in politics was just one of the reasons she decided to become a journalist.
The course is five days a week and it involves doing work experience in a newspaper which allows you to try the real industry out.
She is doing this course as she is creative, likes international relations and she also likes being able to report national issues. This course allows her to do these things. It also pushes her to learn new skills such as being more confident and professional when conducting interviews.
By her being a dual national the skills of knowing both French and English plays into her cards especially when conducting interviews as it opens up her door on how many people she can interview which gives her great advantage over other candidates.
