CONSTRUCTION industry specialist firm, Morgan Sindall Construction, has collaborated with BMAT STEM Academy in Harlow.
Pupils at BMAT STEM Academy have been offered the opportunity to take part in a week of virtual work experience as celebrations commenced to honour the latest partnership.
The business-focused school aims to provide students KS4 and above with insider knowledge, career prospects and work experience geared towards science, technology, engineering and mathematical subjects. The school has a host of industry-leading sponsors, with their recent partners undertaking over 300 apprentices annually.
Helen Clements, social value manager at Morgan Sindall Construction, said: “We will support BMAT STEM towards achieving their Gatsby Benchmarks by arranging work experience placements and site visits where students will have the opportunity to meet with people working in the industry and learn more about the sector. We see this as a great platform for students interested in pursuing a career in construction and becoming part of our future talent pipeline.”
Students will work together on a project, receiving a brief, meeting virtually with project experts, conduct a virtual tour, complete workshops on CV writing and interview techniques and present their project to the Morgan Sindall Construction team.
Mikaela Pinnock, careers advisor at BMAT STEM, said: This is another fantastic opportunity for our students to demonstrate their commitment to their studies and their futures and will look great on their CVs. Morgan Sindall Construction is giving us access to amazing people who will be able to inspire our students with details of their career pathways, whether that be via university or an apprenticeship.”
