COOKS Spinney has been undergoing a transformation.
Staff at Cooks Spinney Primary Academy have recently transformed their nature area into an outdoor learning space.
They tidied the green area and have now made it possible for many outside lessons, such as art lessons as well art and craft-based learning linked to the science and art curriculum.
Headteacher Neil Stirrat said: “We had a good tidy up of our existing nature area ready for the new academic year.
“The area has always held such promise, but was under-utilised and was very overgrown. With more outdoor learning being encouraged due to Coronavirus, we thought it was the perfect time to get the nature area cut back, tidied up and prepared as an outdoor classroom.”
A bird hide, bird feeders and bird boxes are being added to the area, along with a campfire, herb garden and sensory trail which will all create more outdoor opportunities.
