STUDENTS from Harlow’s Burnt Mill Academy, Mirela Turcan, Year 7 and Mackenzie Cook, Year 8, both designed Christmas cards for a competition launched by Mind, a mental health charity in West Essex.

The girls were two of five winners from schools around the county, including one winner from Harlow College.

All winning designs will be professionally printed and sold throughout Essex to raise funds for the charity.

Sophia Chippett, an ADT [art, design and technology] teacher, said: “Burnt Mill Academy are so happy to be supporting Mind in West Essex. With the challenging year we have had, it is incredibly important to support mental health charities.

“We are so pleased that two of our wonderful students won the competition. We cannot wait to see the printed cards!”
